The Wild Caledonia team is led by John and is one of central Scotland’s most experienced birders. He has been leading birding trips throughout the UK for over twenty years. He is synonymous with studying Scotland’s, and for most of the year, Britain’s only population of Bean Geese. He is a member of the Central Scotland Raptor Study Group and specialises in Hen Harriers. He is one of Scotland’s most experienced Police Wildlife Crime Officers and brings an extensive array of contacts to the team which will ensure the success of your trip. He has made a significant contribution in species protection by promoting awareness of the threats faced by raptors on national television. John’s love of Hen Harriers in particular, was featured on the 2006 series of BBC Springwatch. He is a sociable and friendly person who creates an enjoyable atmosphere for all.
